History of College Basketball
In 1922, six teams participated in the National Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis, IN. This marked the first postseason tournament for college basketball teams. Over the years, ladders have been brought onto the court for many winning college teams to celebrate by cutting down the nets. The Werner ladders used by the winning teams in the post game net-cutting ceremonies for Divisions I, II and III men's and women's basketball championships are made exclusively for the NCAA®.
Werner continues to be the Official Ladder of 2022 NCAA® MARCH MADNESS® and also sponsors The Naismith Trophy Men's and Women's College Coach of the Year Award. Don't forget to tune in for the madness!
